The Area Agency on Aging also advocates on behalf of older persons, identifies the needs of the elderly and creates plans for meeting those needs to enable the elderly to maintain their independence and dignity.

The Aging & Disability Resource Center is a point of entry to access support programs and benefits for Barbour, Berkeley, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, Lewis, Mineral, Morgan, Pendleton, Preston, Randolph, Taylor, Tucker and Upshur counties.

The Appalachian Area Agency on Aging (AAAOA) is one of four Area Agencies on Aging in West Virginia funded by the West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services to administer federal and state funds for senior programs.

The West Virginia Aging & Disability Resource Center- Charleston Office is the State office and serves as a point of entry to access support programs and benefits for all counties in the State.
