Montachusett Home Care Corporation
Montachusett Home Care Corporation (MHCC) is a not-for-profit agency established in 1974. Our mission is to assist elders and disabled persons to remain safely in their own homes through the provision of in-home and community based services designed to prevent unnecessary nursing home placement. Our service area includes the 21 communities of northern Worcester County. Funding for the services and programs we provide comes from the federal, state and local governments, as well as private foundations and organizations.
MHCC offers several home care programs to elders and disabled persons who meet financial and programmatic eligibility criteria. Eligibility and service need is determined by an assessment completed by our nursing and case management staff. Elders and disabled persons who have critical unmet needs may receive homemaker and personal care services to assist them with tasks such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grocery shopping, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping and transportation to certain medical treatments. Many other services also are available depending on the needs of the individual.
We also administer an Elder Protective Services Program, which is responsible for responding to elder abuse reports. Elder abuse includes physical, emotional and sexual abuse, caregiver and self-neglect and financial exploitation.
MHCC's Money Management Program is available to elders and disabled persons are unable to manage their finances without assistance. Companion and Medical Escort services also are available through our Volunteer Program.
MHCC offers several supportive housing and community based residential programs for elders and disabled adults who require regular supervision and other supportive services.
Information and Referral service can link callers to any service they need, whether it is provided by MHCC or another service agency in Worcester County.
