Cobb Senior Services
It is the mission of Cobb Senior Services to improve the quality of life for our senior citizens through innovative programs and state of the art facilities that meet their levels of need. Our primary goal is to assist our clients in their efforts to remain independent through affordable transportation, nutrition, recreation, education, socialization and in home services. Cobb Senior Services is committed to its role as the catalyst for senior advocacy, volunteerism and information resources for our elder population.
Recognized as one of the leading county-based senior agencies in Georgia, Cobb Senior Services provides an array of services including the operation of eight Senior Centers which include three neighborhood centers, four multipurpose centers, and the Senior Wellness Center. Information and Referral

Clients must be Cobb County residents and 60 years or older. Eligibility and amount of services needed will be determined through assessment. Sliding scale fees based upon total household income. For more information, please call (770) 528-5364.
In-Home Services allows the senior citizen to remain more independent and able to reside in her/his own home. Technicians are trained in basic care giving. No skilled care.
Personal Care - Includes assistance with basic hygiene and dressing. Light meal preparation, straightening of immediate surroundings. Client provides personal items.
Homemaker Care - Light and minimal homemaker service for clients physically unable to do for themselves. May include cleaning the bathroom, light mopping, vacuuming, dusting, linen change and taking out the trash. Laundry, if appliances are on premises. Client supplies all items.
*In Home Services is now operated as a Voucher Program. Eligible clients receive vouchers and a list of In Home Care Providers from which to purchase services on the days and times needed.

Meals on Wheels
Meals-on-wheels Meals on Wheels delivers to homebound seniors, 60 and older, who are unable to cook for themselves. Over 50,000 meals are served each year through Meals On Wheels. All meals meet USDA requirements and are prepared by a vendor under contract with Cobb County Government. Volunteers are needed to deliver hot, nutritious meals to homebound seniors Monday - Friday. Eligibility to receive Meals On Wheels: Clients must be Cobb County residents, age 60 or older, and must complete an assessment by calling 770-528-5364.
Transportation provides dependable, radio-dispatched vans at low cost to medical and nutritional facilities and designated Senior Centers in Cobb County.
The Cobb County Department of Transportation, in partnership with Cobb Senior Services and Cobb Community Transit (CCT), is proud to offer COBB FREEDOM. The first step is to apply for Paratransit.
Fixed Route - Transportation is provided to the three senior Neighborhood Centers on a pre-scheduled basis.
Demand Response - Appointments are pre-scheduled to medical facilities. Clients are asked to make appointments in advance.

Free Senior Citizen Bus Pass Program - If you regularly use CCT as your mode of transportation, Senior Services has a limited number of free bus passes. Call 770-528-5364 to schedule a required appointment. Passes are limited to Cobb residents age 55 & above only.
Flex Spending Account for Adult Day Care
If your employer offers Flexible Spending Accounts for Dependent Care which covers child daycare, it might also cover adult day care. The IRS provides the benefit if it allows the employee to work. This is a pre-tax benefit. If the employee is financially responsible for the adult child or parent this would be a covered expense. Contact the HR department at your company or organization to learn details about this benefit.
Share the Care
This unique program provides vouchers to caregivers who are caring for a love one diagnosed with Alzheimer's or related Dementia or Chronic Diseases which severely impair their quality of life. These include Failure to Thrive, Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, COPD, End stage Renal Disease and Cancer which require assistance with at least 2 activities of daily and requires a caregiver.
